Elora’s Longest BBQ 2025

Elora’s Longest BBQ Returns July 29th with 20+ Restaurants, Local Drinks, and Live Music

Elora, ON – Back by mouthwatering demand, Canada’s ultimate open-air BBQ is back! On Tuesday, July 29, the heart of downtown Elora transforms into a celebration of Canadian cuisine for the return of Elora’s Longest BBQ the official launch of Food Day Canada 2025.

This free, all-ages event brings together:

• 20+ local restaurants serving Canadian-inspired fare

• Local Craft Beverages pouring Ontario Wine, Beer & Cider

• Live music throughout the evening

• Family-friendly activities in one of Ontario’s most picturesque towns

Last year’s event drew over 7,500 guests for a day of unforgettable Canadian flavours and festivities and this year’s edition promises to be even bigger projecting over 10,000 guests in attendance. We invite you to shop, cook, dine, and celebrate local with us once again.

“This event captures the essence of Food Day Canada,” says Jeff Stewart, Executive Director of Food Day Canada. “It’s about celebrating Canadian ingredients, the people who grow, harvest and prepare them, and the joy of gathering at a shared table. Elora’s Longest Barbecue will be a feast for the senses, and the community spirit.”

“We’re thrilled to help organize what has truly become an iconic event,” says Jocelyn Maurice, Managing Partner of Elora Mill. “Elora’s Longest BBQ is a celebration of everything we love about our community, hospitality, local food, and unforgettable experiences. We look forward to welcoming thousands of guests to Elora, now firmly on the map as a must-visit Canadian culinary destination.”

Food Day Canada, founded in Elora by the late author, food laureate and culinary activist Anita Stewart, is a national celebration of Canadian food and the farmers, fishers, chefs, and communities that shape it. As the official kick-off event, Elora’s Longest BBQ honours her legacy by spotlighting community, collaboration, and Canadian culinary pride. Anita truly believed in Canadian Food First, and both of these events stand as vibrant testaments to that vision, uniting people around the table in a heartfelt celebration of local ingredients, shared heritage, and the enduring spirit of Canadian cuisine.

Just 90 minutes from Toronto, Elora’s Longest BBQ is a scenic summer escape for food lovers of all ages. Admission is free; food and beverage tickets are available online, or can be purchased on-site, with proceeds supporting Food Day Canada and its mandate to promote and champion Canadian food, farmers, and culinary excellence from coast to coast to coast.

This celebration also reflects our deep connection to food and farming—thanks in part to the support of the Grand River Agricultural Society and Egg Farmers of Ontario—who help strengthen our community through agriculture, sustainability, and education.
